Campus ministries offer a great space for evangelism, community, and instruction, but they’re temporary. Every four years, students come and go. While students may get saved in a campus ministry, spiritual growth takes time.
Local churches are instituted by God. The Scriptures never mention campus ministries, but they frequently reference the local church. We should value the church because the Bible values the church.
The local church offers young adults a place to observe and learn from faithful, older Christians, aiding in their spiritual growth. This Christian community supports them both during their time on campus and after they leave.
We’re extremely grateful for these recommended campus ministries who play a vital role in reaching the lost on college campuses.
Campus Outreach was founded in 1978 at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. The ministry quickly expanded to new campuses across Alabama and built strong community connections. Campus Outreach has a presence at Samford University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
